13 Feb Great Bowl O’ Fire Sculptural Firebowl and Fountain at Club Westside in Houston, Texas.

I had a chance to visit Club Westside, a health and fitness club in Houston, Texas on my way to SXSW, and photograph the Great Bowl O’ Fire Sculptural Firebowl that caps their fountain. Due to the rainy weather that day, it’s hard to see the water that forms flows down from the top, covering the iridescent blue tiles.

Linda McIngvale, owner, and Elliott McCullough were kind enough to give me a tour of the members-only club and let me and Marcie meet some of the exotic animals that are part of their Animal Ambassador program.

I was very excited to have a chance to meet Simba, the African serval. I’m a huge fan of big cats and this was my first opportunity to get close to one.

Marcie and I both also had the chance to hold capuchin monkeys.
